The first of the UK charity Golf day circuit organised to raise funds for MAPS and the RSPCA was hosted at East Sussex on Friday 28th of January.

It was a great success with approximately 80 golfers enjoying both splendid weather and an excellently kept course. The winner Gary Edmonds won entrance into the Andalucian charity Open to be held in the Costa del Sol in September (23rd - 25th).The first prize included flights, transfers and a weeks Bed and Breakfast accommodation at the luxury 4 star Tamisa Hotel in Mijas. The competition is to be played over three of the Costa Del Sols top courses, El Chaparral, La Calanova and Mijas Golf with the winner being announced on the Sunday at a poolside Gala Dinner.

Second prize of a four ball at Mannings Heath was won by Harry Wignal and third prize of a weekend stay at Hotel Tamisa Golf (Mijas) was given to Daniel Buck, After the lunch and the prize giving ceremony there was a charity auction to raise money for both of the charities.

The popular consensus of opinion was that it was a most enjoyable day which benefited
two very worthwhile causes. Several golfers signed up to participate in both the next competition which is being hosted at Moor Park on Friday 18th of March and also to play in the Andalucian charity Open in September.
